Amelie is an international scientist with over 17 years of professional experience in molecular epidemiology and public health in high- and low-resource countries, from the academia, the World Health Organization and the pharmaceutical industry. Amelie´s PhD project in respiratory medicine was a collaborative undertaking between Lund University Hospital and AstraZeneca R&D. Amelie broadened her skills in epidemiology and public health during two postdoctoral periods for a tot of 6.5 years. During her first postdoc at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in Lyon, France, which is part of the World Health Organization, she was part of designing and managed the International Liver Cancer Study (ILCS), and the West Africa Network for Research in Gastrointestinal and Liver Cancer. In 2010 Amelie started working with VetU (Vetenskaplig Utvecklings strimma, the “Scientific development thread”) as postdoc, got a lecturer position in 2014 and was chair of VetU during 2015/16. Now, Amelie is chair of postgraduate education (studierektor) at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB); course director at the medical program; and group leader for the research group of Global Health Molecular Epidemiology at MEB.
